Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award

Award History

1985

1985-2017

The Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award was initiated by the Lion & Globe Educational Trust in 1985 and has been co-organized by the Outstanding Young Persons’ Association. The first year of the Awards only accepted applications from female students.

The Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award was opened to male students in the third year (1987). In the same year, the Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association (HKOSA) was founded by past awardees to foster student participation in community services and enhance youth development.

In 2009, Ms. Doreen Leung, the first female of “The Outstanding Young Persons of the World" and the organizer of the Award, passed away. In memory of Ms. Leung, Youth Arch Foundation set up the Doreen Leung Memorial Service Award in 2010 to uphold her selfless spirit of serving the community.
